For those who cannot find barrier protection, it is recommended to enjoy the race from higher ground if possible in order to elevate yourself from the race course.

Do not stand or sit where a vehicle might strike you. Everyone in spectator viewing areas is encouraged to have some sort of barrier protection if possible (rocks, trees, and vehicles etc.).Do NOT stand within prohibited areas under any circumstance.Any orange fencing in a spectator viewing area dictates a prohibited / high danger area. All spectators must remain behind any fence, or otherwise marked areas, that outline the designated viewing areas.Within the spectator viewing areas, all spectators must stay as far back from the race course as possible.Any vehicles parked outside of these designated areas without a PPIHC-issued parking pass are subject to be towed at owner’s expense. No spectator parking will be allowed anywhere along the course except in seven designated parking areas: Devils Playground, Cove Creek, Glen Cove, Ski Area, Halfway Picnic Grounds, 9 Mile (overnight camping only, no additional Race Day parking), and the Start Line area.If you want to view the race above the Start Line, it is recommended you arrive early as parking in these areas will be first come, first served. PPIHC may limit the number of cars allowed above the Start Line to 1,300 to make sure all vehicles will be accommodated within the seven designated areas.
