As the only playable character, Sou does not have a voice actor in the original Visual Novel, which is not uncommon in Japanese Visual Novels, as the player is meant to get the feeling he is controlling that character.Sou's surname Akiyama means "autumn" (秋) ( aki) and "mountain, hill" (山) ( yama).The name Sou means "play music, complete" (奏).His school uniform has been slightly simplified as well, for example not featuring the stripes on his tie. In the animation of the series, the hair and eyes of Sou are a bit lighter and his facial contours and his general body build make him look slightly more mature for his age than in the original Visual Novel. Additionally, he wears an orange tie with bright yellow stripes around his neck and black leather shoes. The edges and sleeves of the blazer feature white stripes.
His school uniform consists of a dark blue blazer with a white shirt underneath, and a pair of fitting, dark blue pants. His body build appears to be average for a boy his age and with a height of 175cm he can be considered rather tall. His eyes are colored in a similar dark blue shade. Sou is a handsome young man with very dark, short, blue hair, which grows to his ears in the front - although they do not get completely covered by his hair - and to his neck in the back, with a few lose strands growing from the top of his head and the hair slightly parting on the left side of his forehead.
